After Sakuma (Kenichi Takifuji) holds evidence of his medical error cover-up, Kamura (Kihei Shiina) is transferred to the Neo Medical Center with his confidant Kitchen (Masahiro Komoto). He ostensibly cooperates in a large-scale clinical trial that causes heart ruptures in the elderly, but behind the scenes, he continues to research workarounds to ensure that no one dies. Meanwhile, Kuraki's (Tatsuya Nakadai) heart bursts into the countdown, and Kamura becomes impatient. He is furious with Kuraki for being so immersed in filming that he skips the inspection, but he hears an unexpected truth from Kuraki's wife, Akiko (Midoriko Kimura).
